Course Description
This workshop is designed for anyone 12 years + who wants to learn a short choreographed dance. We will explore how the body is designed to move, and through this exploration discover how to apply it to our choreography Throughout the workshop participants will learn how to harness the body’s design to bounce, swing, and dance!
By delving into the body’s natural and inexhaustible resources we will discover how to swing, snap, and spin together. As a culmination participants will learn a short routine incorporating body percussion, solo swing, and Lindy-Hop.
Goals of the workshop:
Increase body awareness of participants through the use of their hands, head, and voice. Both as individuals and as couples
Improve confidence on stage through understanding how the body wants to move, and exploring how that feels.
Learn a routine incorporating the basics of body percussion, swing, and partner dance.
