Course Description
Toulouse Comedy Players has a long history of delighting audiences with wonderful performances of comedy theatre, thanks to Angela Blyth, who founded and led the group for many years. In 24/25, however, the group has a new activity leader Michael Bejani.
Michael has much experience in the field of improvisation so our project for 24/25 is Improv! Theatre.
During this course you will learn the foundations of improvisation comedy:
Saying yes constantly
Fully committing to a role
Thinking outside the box
You will additionally develop important life skills:
Adaptability
Communication
Team work
Furthermore, you will challenge yourself and gain self-confidence, while enjoying a whole lot of fun and laughter and relaxing and bonding with others.
Classes will be broken down into 3 different sections:
Warm Up - involving improv games and simple exercises.
Skill Acquisition- focusing on development of a specific skill
Scene/Performance Work- putting everything together to perform scenes, and improve our improvisaton skills.
The course will culminate in a public 'Improv Show'. In this performance, actors will work on stage together to play several hilarious games and to perform short scenes inspired by suggestions from our audience.
No specific improv or theatre skills are required as we will build up the foundations together.
