Course Description
Tarzan and Lion King: Roar into Musical Theatre
5 days of fun working with 3 experienced tutors Peter Hammer, Eve Hirsch and Sarah Bushnell. The days will include theatre games, rehearsals for a musical medley of Tarzan and Lion King as well as times for sport and games with the other course participants.
Over this week-long course you will develop performance and vocal skills through fun theatre games, music rehearsals of two lively medleys from Tarzan and The Lion King and later choreography and stage movements to bring the music to life on the stage. In the process you will gain helpful vocal, dance and performance tips from our experienced choreographer and vocal coach. By the end of the week, you’ll perform a thrilling mashup in costume of these beloved tales, showcasing your new skills in a fun, supportive environment. No experience needed—just bring your energy and imagination! Come along and have a go!

COURSE PRESENTERS
Eve Hirsch is an experienced international concert and stage vocal artist. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music (University of Auckland) she went on to complete a Graduate Diploma of Vocal Performance (Queensland Conservatorium) and was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 1999. She has performed solo with many orchestras, including to an audience of 6000, with the New Zealand Symphony. On the theatrical stage, she has appeared in professional productions of both musical and operatic works, ranging from South Pacific to Madam Butterfly.
Eve has enjoyed an international teaching career and is an experienced teacher. Since moving to Toulouse she has been running her own private music studio Butterfly Vocal as well has being employed by the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Toulouse, the International School of Toulouse, the Mairie de Pibrac and English 31. She is active as a musical director, stage director and choral conductor of a pop/rock choir Vocal 31. She is currently furthering her studies towards a MA in Professional Practice Voice Pedagogy.
Peter Hammer is a professional performer, choreographer, and teacher based in Toulouse, France. For over 10 years, he has devoted his professional dance career to learning, dancing, and teaching the Jump Rhythm® Technique an unique American art form that combines jazz and tap dance with “scat” singing and body percussion to create an energetic expression of whole-body emotion and rhythm. He began dancing when he was 14 and went on to receive a degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from Hope College, in Holland, Michigan. In 2007, Peter began working with Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, an Emmy award-winning Chicago dance company. As a company member, he performed, choreographed, and taught workshops and masterclasses in Finland, Spain, France, and throughout the US. At the end of 2017, Peter received a “Passeport Talent” visa to teach dance and perform in France. Now, his focus is directed to introducing the Jump Rhythm Technique in France, with classes, workshops, and performances in Toulouse and other cities through his association, Association Rythme Américain, and dance company, Sounds of the SOL.
Sarah Bushnell is an experienced teacher, musician, conductor, and performer with an international career spanning nearly 35 years. She graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow with a Master of Music in 1995.
As a performer, Sarah has worked with orchestras across the UK and Europe, and has organised and led numerous orchestral tours in France and Germany. Alongside her performance career, she has built an extensive teaching practice, working with students of all ages and abilities. Many of her former students have progressed to music colleges and gone on to successful professional careers in music.
Since relocating to France in 2011, Sarah has remained highly active in both performance and education. She has appeared in a range of musicals and English-language pantomimes at the Théâtre Musical de Pibrac, taught drama in English to children and teenagers for TMA, and performed locally on violin and viola. She also offers private violin tuition and specialist coaching for drama school auditions from her home studio.
